Regensburg, Germany September 15, 1945 Dear Mom, Yesterday afternoon I got discharged from the hospital with my eye fully recovered. So many people have been moved out on redeployment that the bottom fell out of our I&E school. Consequently, we turned it over to the Div which is to occupy this area ultimately and I am now back in the G-3 Administrative sub-section (Dept of periods and commas again). Everything is set for me to go to school next month except that the quota hasn't come down. I saw the draft of it while I was in Paris so I know it's on the way somewhere. I found the package with shirts, books and paper waiting for me when I returned to my hotel yesterday. The bundle came through in excellent shape and apparently had not been opened anywhere enroute. Today Marn's packages of enlarging paper and contact paper which she sent early in the month both arrived, a matter of about ten days. Many thanks for all. That will fix me up for a while. Now I'm going to have to start some things flowing your way. I've got too much stuff to carry around with me. Inasmuch as I'll have a new address when I go to school you'd better not try to send any Christmas packages. Otherwise they'll bounce around and probably won't reach me anyway. Love, Bob |
